Roleplay tone without gatekeeping

Shogun’s Reign rewards players who act like residents of an Edo-inspired province: polite service, patient trade, seasonal farm work, and careful status play. That does not mean you must memorize historical Japanese perfectly on hour one. It does mean you should avoid breaking scenes for no reason, respect bathhouse and attendant rituals, and keep combat or intrigue inside the fantasy the server is running.

If you prefer mechanical optimization, chain Farmer → Merchant capital → housing, then branch into retainer or warrior fantasies. If you prefer immersion, start Attendant or Performer and let Ryō accumulate more slowly while you learn etiquette.
